This concert is the first on a spring tour, the highlight of which will be their first invited appearance at the Kate Wolf Music Festival, an honor they are quite proud of, and rightly so!  So come out and help them launch a great tour!

Their Story:
In May 2012, Dan Frechette, Canadian entertainer, master impressionist, acoustic guitarist, and prolific songwriter, chanced upon a YouTube video of Monterey, California's Laurel Thomsen, world class violinist, composer, and educator.

Dan was instantly impressed by Laurel’s incredible tone and ability to “conjure emotions and spirit with the violin” and contacted her, hoping someday he would hear how she could add these qualities to his own songs (with an astonishing 1500 of them and counting, including the The Duhks’ hit singles "Mists of Down Below" and "You Don't See It"). Laurel was equally impressed with Dan’s diversity as a songwriter, his heartfelt voice, and his one-man-band style of guitar playing - fusing lead, rhythm, and bass lines on just one left handed acoustic guitar. Initially they recorded music together back and forth online and through the wonders of modern technology began forging together a powerful new friendship and an old-soul alt-folk acoustic sound.

A year after becoming friends online, Dan and Laurel finally met in person, and didn’t waste time, performing their first concert together less than 24 hours after Dan’s flight landed him in the California Bay Area. They then drove over 25,000 miles, logged over 180 shows, released a debut CD, and delighted North American audiences with diversity and natural musical chemistry.   Now with their new album "New Disguise", Dan and Laurel are out making waves again with their mesmerizing synergy.

Audiences enjoy their heartwarming harmonies, emotive violin, and spirited guitar and harmonica, while literate, poetic lyrics, and soundtrack ready instrumentals capture stories of triumph and irony, wit and humor.   www.danandlaurel.ca.
